China Studies Programme celebrated its 25th anniversary by organising an Anniversary Dinner recently attended by around 300 guests including staff, students, alumni and friends of the China Studies Programme.
The array of activities at the event included games, a photo booth, a video and a lucky draw. The officiating guests were Mr. Andy Lee, Vice-President (Administration and Secretary),Prof. Chen Qi, Associate Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University.
At the ceremony, Mr.Andy Lee appreciated the Programme’s efforts in striving for excellence in education over the years. He recalled the time that the Programme was founded and expressed his gratitude to successive programme directors and support of Tsinghua University for 25 years.
Mr. Alvin Lee, the president of China Studies Alumni Association shared with the audience the outstanding advancement of“Hope School Project”in Guangxi which aimed at building primary school in mainland China, to create more opportunities for child to be educated in China,and thankedHKBU, programme office and all the guests for supporting the Hope School Project in past three years.
The video highlighted the year-round events to celebrate the 25th Anniversary which include a Lecture Series on Interdisciplinary Studies, anOral History Book of HKBU Student-centered Learning Experience in Beijing,1989-2014: the Summer Sojourn of the China Studies Programme at Tsinghua University, and celebratory events that orgranized with Wei Lun Academic Exchange Centre
